Time is the substance from which I am made.

Time is a river which carries me along, but I am the river; it is a tiger that devours me, but I am the tiger; it is a fire that consumes me, but I am the fire.

@lippinas - a proud Filipino brand made for filipinas!

Lip pinas offer a wide variety of lipsticks that perfectly fits for every filipina/ morenas like me.

The brand has launched their new shades of Tinta collection, and one of them is the one that I'm wearing/ my new fave in the shade of LAKAPATI. What I love about their new collection is, it now comes with a soft, flat doe-foot applicator, making it easier to apply on our lips.

It has a long lasting matte formula and also super pigmented.

Happy 2nd Anniversary to my favorite local make up brand! @lippinas

Today’s reveal is our 2021-2022 Vice President, Aggie Reyes!!

Aggie represents Lakapati, the transgender goddess of fertility🌱
Lakapati is known as the most kind and understanding of all the deities. She is a hermaphrodite, symbolizing the balance of everything. She is also the giver of food and prosperity. Ancient Tagalogs would offer her sacrifices. In the 17th century, they say that a farmer was paying homage to Lakapati by holding up a child before saying “Lakapti pakanin mo yaring alipin mo;huwag mong gutumin” translating to “Lakapati, feed this thy slave;let him not hunger). Every time of harvest, the Tagalogs would raise their children to heaven and pray. Lakapati also translates to “lord of the world” in sanskrit.
Give it up for Aggie✨

Lakapati

The goddess of fertility and agriculture.

She is the most understanding and kind of all the deities. She was a hermaphrodite, having both male and female genitalia, symbolizing the balance of everything. Her bodily expression is notably feminine. Also known as Ikapati, She was the giver of food and prosperity.

Many Filipinos respected her for her kindness. She suffices the needs of anyone who ask help. And most of all, she doesn't choose who to help. This caught the attention of Mapulon, the god of season and good health.

Lakapati and Mapulon had a child named Anagolay, the goddess of lost things. Anagolay also became a helper to mankind so that when they need help in finding their lost things, she will help them.

3. Salain ang mga kabute at halaman.

4. Itabi at ihatid sa buntis na tao.

(Read English translation in the comments for accuracy.)

What is an Altar/ Sacred space?

An altar is any structure on which spiritual/religious offerings, prayers, or rituals are made.

Space has power. Why? The spaces around us are imbued with energy.

Have you ever walked into a room of people, for instance, and felt the overall ‘vibe’ to be heavy, awkward, or suffocating? In contrast, you might walk into a temple or religious chapel and feel the very air vibrate with hope, praise, and reverence.

Intuitively we sense that everything is energy, and everything vibrates at a certain frequency.

While some vibrations are heavy and dense (these are associated with darker emotions like anger and suspicion), other vibrations are expansive and airy (these are associated with lighter emotions like love and gratitude).

And while we may not be consciously aware of it, the energy around us impacts us on a profound physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual level.

Space either supports and empowers us, or it undermines and drains our energy.

In other words, if the energy of a place supports the feeling of sacredness, the person in that room will find it much easier to resonate with their own sacredness.

Knowing this, it’s easy to see why creating your own sacred space is so important.

Sacred spaces make us feel comfortable, welcomed, supported, and loved. Sacred spaces are also vital containers of positive intention and action.

Repost from @igorot.sky -
I have come across male shamens, who dress in female attire, in other Filipino pre-colonial cultures, but their descriptions were mostly short.

In Zambales whose people live North of the Pampanga and South of the Pangasinan I found a bit longer passage.

Manganito (religious services) were conducted by Bayok, male shamen dressed as female, who wore weapons on their waist, a cutlass on the left and a head taking iwa on the right. Each bayok was connected to a particular deity or spirit which they charged an expensive ritual of pig sacrifice. Attendees would be anointed with the pig blood and the ends of the bayok’s hair bound with gold ornaments was snipped and tossed in the air for attendees to catch. A manganito was basically a seance where the bayok would make 3 holes in the ground with a spear and fill them with wine before falling to the ground in a trance trembling and speaking with the voice of the spirit that possessed the bayok.

Pictured is Geena Rocero @geenarocero portraying Lakapati the Transgender Goddess Of Golden Rice and Fertility in Pre-Colonial Philippines on the cover of Surat Magazine a Filipino publication printed in baybayin Filipino script. Lakapati was supposed to be a hermaphrodite and was considered to be the most understanding of all the deities. One account I read stated that we must not confuse Lakapati with Ikapati. Ikapati was a female goddess sometimes mistaken as transgender.
